Counsellor Expectations

Required Orientation

All counsellors, including those who have been counsellors in the past, must attend an orientation. To allow Operation Trackshoes (OT) to fulfill its liability and safety requirements, it is important for us to meet with every counsellor face to face prior to their being assigned to a competitor. Due to the sensitive nature of some information you will also be required to sign a Confidentiality Agreement.

Criminal Record Check

Please note that all counsellors over the age of 12 will need to give OT permission to have a criminal record check done.

Stay with Competitors

It is imperative that competitors are safely supported. In order to avoid any problems, counsellors must stay with their competitors at all times.

Assignment Limitations

Friends and family members will not be assigned to the same group of competitors. The focus is upon developing relationships with competitors and pre-existing friendships may compromise this.
